About the Millfield Flow Converter

Millfield Flow Converter is a new Danish-patented cleantech technology that effectively optimizes CO2-neutral energy utilization by converting energy from rivers, tides, and ocean currents into stable and predictable electricity.

MFC represents a groundbreaking development in renewable energy technology, offering a competitive, efficient, and environmentally friendly solution for clean energy production. Its fast installation time, low kWh cost, stable and predictable energy output, wide applicability, scalability, independence from wind and solar conditions, and positive environmental impact make it a superior energy solution in various contexts, from developed to developing countries.

The Millfield Flow Converter consists of a compact wing module that uses water currents to generate electricity. The infrastructure is mounted dry and grounded on a riverbank or barge, with only the wing module submerged in water. Our first market model is expected to produce between 50 and 500 kW of electricity, depending on the water current speed (0.5 to 4 m/s) and further technology development. With an average flow of 4 m/s, MFC can generate electricity equivalent to the energy consumption of 1,095 Danish single-family homes / 4.38 GWh per year.

This hybrid hydropower technology can be installed and commissioned on land in just one day, and it can supplement existing solutions or function as a decentralized off-grid energy source.
